Description
This futuristic-looking painting by the fine artist Kwaku Akrasi symbolises the wealth and tradition of Africa in an impressively colourful way. Gold and beads jewellery adorn the person in the painting. It reminds of the Dipo ceremony of the Krobo people in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Here, virgin girls are accompanied into adulthood. Moreover, traditional chiefs and kings wear jewellery to demonstrate their power and wealth.
This acrylic painting was dressed with hand-painted bamboo beads and decorated with pieces of cocoa sack.
