This plated wooden elephant carries the Adinkra Symbol “Hye Wohye” on its back. Hye Wohye means “that which does not burn ” and is a symbol of imperishability and endurance. This symbol gets its meaning from traditional priests that were able to walk on fire without burning their feet, an inspiration to others to endure and overcome difficulties.
Our items are all handmade and therefore every single one is unique. Colour, size and/or motif may vary slightly, which in our eyes is a sign of quality and reflects the artistic signature of each individual artist.
