Dakini

Dakini immigrated to Ghana in 2019. Originally from Germany, she is the child of a Russian mother. As a child she found enthusiasm in painting but stopped due to too much pressure by expectations of others. Instead, she gained experience in web design. In Ghana, she found her way back to art through the freedom she experienced and the inspiration she found. She wants to reflect her surroundings through the eyes of an attentive stranger. Illuminating the life of an African woman is particularly important to her. Through her art, she wants to put women in a new picture and help them to self-awareness and self-empowerment. Dakini’s connection to Mother Nature is visible in all her paintings.
